Recipe: Habanero Pumpkin Tacos

These uniquely flavored tacos get their sweet heat from the Freakshow Habanero Pumpkin Hot Sauce. The sauce adds a kick of spice along with notes of pumpkin, garlic, and warm spices. The pumpkin puree makes the taco filling extra saucy and creamy. Top with your favorite taco toppings for a fun, festive meal! Refrigerate any leftovers for easy lunches.


Ingredients:

-1 lb ground turkey or chicken

-1 tbsp olive oil

-1 small onion, diced

-2 cloves garlic, minced

-1/2 tsp salt

-1/4 tsp black pepper

-1 tbsp chili powder

-1 tsp ground cumin

-1 tsp oregano

-1 cup Freakshow Savory Sauces Habanero Pumpkin Hot Sauce

-1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree

-1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

-12-16 small corn or flour tortillas, warmed

-Toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, diced avocado, sour cream, etc.


Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground turkey or chicken in the olive oil, breaking it up as it browns. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper until the turkey is well coated in the spices.
  4. 4Pour in the Habanero Pumpkin Hot Sauce, pumpkin puree, and chicken broth. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  5. 5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more hot sauce for extra heat.
  6. Spoon a few tablespoons of the pumpkin turkey mixture into each warmed tortilla. Top with desired toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, avocado, and sour cream.


Serve habanero pumpkin tacos immediately while hot. Provide extra hot sauce on the side.
